CarPlay Screen for Mercedes: 2026 Guide (A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, E-Class, ML, GLA, GLC, Vito)

Mercedes-Benz Clase C - Radio Pantalla Carplay y Android Auto

Installing CarPlay and Android Auto in your Mercedes is entirely possible, but there's a key detail: Mercedes has used various multimedia systems (NTG 4.5, NTG 5, NTG 5.5), and the screen or interface that fits your car depends on which one you have. In this guide, we explain the options by model (A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, E-Class, ML, GLA, GLC, Vito…), how to identify your NTG, and the cost of each solution.

Quick answer: for Mercedes, you have two paths: replace the original screen with a specific CarPlay screen (recommended for older A/B/C/E-Class, W211, W203, W164…) or add a CarPlay interface to your NTG screen (recommended for newer models). Identify your system using our Mercedes NTG guide.

By Mercedes Model

A-Class, B-Class, and CLA

Older models (W169 A-Class, W245 B-Class) allow replacing the original screen with a specific screen with native CarPlay. Newer models usually use an interface for the original screen. See B-Class W169/W245 guide.

C-Class (W203, W204, W205)

One of the most sought after. Each generation requires a different solution: W203 (replacement with adapter frame), W204 (specific or interface), W205 (CarPlay interface over NTG 5).

E-Class (W211, W212, W213)

The W211 is one of the most popular for screen replacement: see W211 guide and W211 E300.

SUVs: ML, GL, GLA, GLC

The ML/GL W164 (2005–2012) have a specific screen with clean installation. Modern GLA/GLC/GLE models usually use an interface for the original screen.

Vito and Sprinter

Mercedes vans (V639 Vito, W906 Sprinter) allow a specific screen with an original connector and native CarPlay.

  1. Specific Screen: replaces the original screen. Ideal for Mercedes pre-2014 (W203, W204, W211, W164…). Retains steering wheel controls and camera.
  2. CarPlay Interface: adds CarPlay to the original NTG screen. Ideal for NTG 5 / NTG 5.5 where the original screen is good and aesthetically perfect. See CarPlay interfaces and screen vs. interface comparison.

Installation, ITV, and Warranty

Specific Mercedes screens are plug & play: original connector without cutting wires. It's usually enough to remove the trim (20–40 min). The ITV (vehicle inspection) is not a problem with an approved screen; more info in do CarPlay Android screens pass ITV?. 2-year warranty and free shipping to Spain on all devices.

Can I put CarPlay in my Mercedes?

Yes, in almost any Mercedes from 2000, you can add CarPlay and Android Auto, either by replacing the screen or with an interface for the original NTG screen.

What is the NTG system and why does it matter?

NTG (New Telematics Generation) is Mercedes' multimedia system. Each generation (4.5, 5, 5.5, 6) has a different screen and connectors, so it's crucial to identify yours before buying.

Yes, both with a specific screen and with a CarPlay interface for NTG, you retain controls, sensors, and the original camera.

Does my Mercedes already have factory CarPlay?

Models with MBUX (2018+) usually have CarPlay activated as standard or as an option. For NTG 5 or older, it needs to be added.
