Mercedes has used several generations of the Comand/Audio NTG system:

A-Class, B-Class, and CLA

Older models (W169 A-Class, W245 B-Class) allow replacing the original screen with a specific screen with native CarPlay. Newer models usually use an interface for the original screen. See B-Class W169/W245 guide.

C-Class (W203, W204, W205)

One of the most sought after. Each generation requires a different solution: W203 (replacement with adapter frame), W204 (specific or interface), W205 (CarPlay interface over NTG 5).

E-Class (W211, W212, W213)

SUVs: ML, GL, GLA, GLC

The ML/GL W164 (2005–2012) have a specific screen with clean installation. Modern GLA/GLC/GLE models usually use an interface for the original screen.

Vito and Sprinter

Mercedes vans (V639 Vito, W906 Sprinter) allow a specific screen with an original connector and native CarPlay.

Specific Screen or CarPlay Interface?

1. Specific Screen: replaces the original screen. Ideal for Mercedes pre-2014 (W203, W204, W211, W164…). Retains steering wheel controls and camera.

Installation, ITV, and Warranty

Specific Mercedes screens are plug & play: original connector without cutting wires. It's usually enough to remove the trim (20–40 min).
