CarPlay Screen Radio for Renault Master (2018-2024): how to install Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

CarPlay Screen Radio for Renault Master 2018-2024

The Renault Master is one of the best selling large vans in Spain and, for a great many self-employed drivers, it is literally the office. Deliveries, building sites, removals, camper conversions: anyone driving a Master spends the day arriving at new addresses, taking calls and looking for the next stop. That is exactly where a limited dashboard hurts: navigating with a phone stuck to the windscreen, changing tracks blindly or not being able to dictate a message without letting go of the wheel.

The answer is not a new van. There is an Android screen radio made specifically for the Renault Master facelift (2018-2024) that fits in the original radio opening, keeps the steering wheel controls and adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus GPS with maps of Spain and Europe.

Does the Renault Master have CarPlay as standard?

On the vast majority of vans on the road, no. The Master is sold above all to fleets and professionals, and the infotainment that leaves the factory is usually the most basic in the range:

  • Standard radio with a monochrome display: DAB, USB, Bluetooth for calls and little else. No phone mirroring and no navigation.
  • Systems with a small screen and built-in navigation on the better equipped trims: maps that age badly, no live traffic and no access to the apps you use every day.

The practical result is the same: the vehicle that covers the most kilometres has the worst multimedia system. And when you are loaded up, with reduced visibility and a stop every few minutes, having navigation and messages on a big screen at eye level stops being a luxury.

The solution: an Android radio for the Renault Master

The Android screen radio for the Renault Master (2018-2024) replaces the original unit with a model-specific fit and adds:

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto built in: you get in, start the van and your phone is already connected.
  • Android with the Play Store: Google Maps, Waze, Spotify, YouTube, online radio or whichever delivery app you use.
  • Built-in GPS with maps of Spain and Europe, usable without mobile data.
  • Steering wheel controls kept through the Renault-specific CAN-Bus.
  • Bluetooth hands-free with an external microphone: far clearer than the original one with a loaded van.
  • Built-in DSP and two USB ports to charge phone and tablet at the same time.
  • Free reversing camera, activated when you select reverse: in a panel van, that is pure safety.
  • Large HD touchscreen, readable with gloves on and in full daylight.

Renault Master compatibility: supported versions

This unit is built for the facelift Master dashboard, the one launched in 2019 with the revised grille and console:

  • Renault Master III facelift (2018-2024): panel van, crew van, chassis cab and minibus.
  • Opel Movano B (2018-2021), which shares the chassis and dashboard.
  • Nissan NV400 (2018-2021), the same vehicle with a different badge.
  • Compatible with front and rear wheel drive versions and with every body length and height (L1H1 to L4H3).

If your Master is older than 2018 or you are not sure which radio you have, send us a photo of the front of your current unit on WhatsApp: we will confirm free of charge whether this screen fits or which one is right for you.

It is plug & play. No van wiring is cut and the original electrical installation is untouched, so it is reversible: if you sell the Master one day, the factory radio can go back in.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Remove the centre console trim with plastic pry tools, never forcing it with a screwdriver.
  3. Undo the screws of the original radio and slide it out of its opening.
  4. Release the ISO connector and the aerial cable from the original unit.
  5. Connect the supplied model-specific harness to the new screen and plug it straight into the Master's connector. The CAN-Bus module is what translates the vehicle signals so the steering wheel controls, sensors and warnings keep working as before.
  6. For the reversing camera, run the video cable along the side to the rear and connect it to the reverse light. In panel vans with a bulkhead, the roof channel is usually the easiest route.
  7. Fit the screen, screw it in, reconnect the battery and pair your phone over Bluetooth and WiFi the first time.

A car audio installer completes the job in 30-60 minutes. With a bit more time and the right tools, it is a perfectly manageable home installation.

The official route is usually awkward: the dealer has no software update that adds CarPlay to a Master fitted with the basic radio, and swapping it for the higher factory system means paying for the unit, the wiring and the labour.

At a car audio shop, the quote is built piece by piece: the multimedia unit, the Master fascia adapter, the ISO cable, the steering wheel control adapter, the aerial and the fitting hours. Every item is invoiced separately and, on top of that, many generic units only offer wired CarPlay.

Our CarPlay screen radio for the Renault Master starts at and includes everything you need: screen, model-specific fascia, harness with CAN-Bus, GPS, wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, a free reversing camera and free shipping within Spain.

Frequently asked questions

Does it fit a Movano or an NV400?
Yes. The Opel Movano B (2018-2021) and the Nissan NV400 (2018-2021) share the dashboard and connector with the facelift Master, so it is the same unit.

Do I keep the steering wheel controls and the parking sensors?
Yes. The Renault-specific CAN-Bus keeps the controls, the parking sensors and the dashboard warnings.

Is the reversing camera worth it on a panel van?
Yes, and that is where it makes the biggest difference. It mounts at the rear and pops up on screen automatically when you select reverse.

Can I use delivery and fleet apps?
Yes. Since it runs Android with the Play Store you can install the apps you use for routes, delivery notes or fleet management, plus CarPlay for the iPhone.

Can the original radio be refitted?
Yes. As no wiring is cut, the installation is reversible: unplug the harness and put the factory unit back.
