The Opel Combo Tour is one of those cars you buy with your head: plenty of space, sliding doors, low running costs and reliability that shrugs off the miles. It is used by families who need real room and by self-employed drivers who spend the day on the road. And that is exactly why its original audio system hurts so much.
The factory radio of this generation, shared with the Fiat Doblo, is among the most basic on the market: a single-line display, radio, perhaps Bluetooth and little else. If you spend your day with your phone clipped to an air vent so you can see the map, this guide is for you: a dedicated Android screen replaces that radio and adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for far less than you might think.
Does the Opel Combo Tour have CarPlay as standard?
No. No version of the Combo of this generation came with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Opel started offering those systems on its passenger car range later, and the Doblo-based Combo was left out.
What you may find in your vehicle is:
- CD radio with a one or two line monochrome display, without a data connection or phone mirroring.
- Radio with basic Bluetooth for calls and, depending on the version, audio streaming of modest quality.
- USB or AUX input on some units, useful for music but useless for navigation.
For a vehicle used daily for deliveries, building sites, long trips or the school run, being without built-in navigation and a decent hands-free system is a real problem, not a whim.

Talk to an expert on WhatsAppThe dedicated screen for the Combo and Doblo takes the place of the original radio with its own frame and plugs into the vehicle's factory connector. The result is a dashboard that looks standard, but with everything you need today.
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: you get in, start the engine and your phone is already connected.
- Large HD touchscreen that stays readable even with the sun in your face.
- Navigation with live traffic: Google Maps or Waze, with speed camera alerts and instantly recalculated routes. Ideal if you do deliveries.
- Music and podcasts with Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music or FM radio.
- Hands-free calling with an external microphone, essential in a body as large and echoey as the Combo's.
- Reversing camera input: the best investment in a vehicle without a clear rear window.
- Steering wheel controls retained through the included CAN Bus module, on versions that have them.
- Open Android: install the apps you use for work or for travelling.
Opel Combo compatibility: supported versions
- Opel Combo Tour and Combo Cargo, from 2010 to 2015, the generation developed on the Fiat Doblo base.
- Fiat Doblo of the same generation, both in passenger and van versions.
- Valid for petrol and diesel engines: the mechanicals do not affect the installation.
- Compatible with units with and without factory Bluetooth.
If your Combo is the more recent one, the one that shares its platform with the Citroën Berlingo and Peugeot Partner or Rifter, you need a different reference: we have a dedicated screen for Berlingo, Partner and Rifter which is the one that fits that dashboard.

Talk to an expert on WhatsAppPlug & play, without cutting original wiring. In a van, access is usually even easier than in a passenger car.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal before you start dismantling.
- Release the console trim with a plastic trim tool, prising from the edges. It is held by clips.
- Take out the original radio with extraction keys or by undoing its screws, depending on the version fitted.
- Connect the ISO harness and the CAN Bus module of the new screen straight onto the vehicle connector, with no splicing.
- Connect the radio antenna, GPS, microphone and USB. Run the microphone up to the A-pillar or the mirror area so it picks up your voice well.
- Check before closing up: reconnect the battery, start the engine and verify sound, Bluetooth, steering wheel controls and CarPlay.
- Fit the screen into the slot and refit the trim.
About an hour if you do it yourself and take your time. If you would rather delegate it, any car audio workshop sorts it out quickly.
- At PantallasPremium: a dedicated screen from , with wiring, CAN Bus module and microphone included, worldwide shipping and a 3-year warranty.
- At the dealership: there is no official update that adds CarPlay to this Combo. The alternative usually offered is a portable satnav or changing vehicles.
- Workshop installation: between and if you do not want to fit it yourself.
For a working vehicle it is one of the upgrades with the best cost-benefit ratio: you get your investment back in convenience from the very first week of routes.
Frequently asked questions
Does it fit both the Combo Tour and the Combo Cargo van?
Yes. The radio slot and the connector are the same on both body styles of this generation.
Do I keep the steering wheel controls?
Yes, on versions that have them. The included CAN Bus module keeps them working.
Can I install a reversing camera?
Yes, and on this vehicle it is especially recommended. The screen has a dedicated input and shows the image when you select reverse.
Does the navigation work without mobile data?
CarPlay and Android Auto use your phone's connection, but you can download offline maps in Google Maps for areas with poor coverage.
Is it the same screen as for the Fiat Doblo?
Yes. Both models share the platform and the dashboard in this generation, so the unit is the same.
