What is the installation like?

Plug & play installation, 45 to 90 minutes, with no wiring cut:

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. With a plastic trim tool, remove the trim around the radio in the Vito's centre console. It is clipped in: lever it from the corners, without rushing.
3. Undo the screws of the original radio and pull it straight out.
4. Unplug the quadlock connector and the aerial and connect them to the Mercedes-specific harness of the new screen. The harness includes the CAN-Bus box, which translates the vehicle's signals and keeps the steering wheel controls and warnings working.
5. Run the reversing camera cable along the side of the floor to the tailgate or rear doors. In a panel van it is worth spending ten minutes tucking it away properly.
6. Fit the screen into its frame and secure the assembly in the console.
7. Reconnect the battery, start up and pair your phone over Bluetooth the first time. From then on, CarPlay connects on its own every morning.
