The second-generation Daihatsu Terios (J200) is a small off-roader with a well-earned reputation: simple, reliable mechanics, permanent four-wheel drive with a centre differential lock on many versions, and a size that makes it perfect for both town and country tracks. That is why many Terios are still in use, even though Daihatsu stopped selling cars in Europe some time ago. What has not stood the test of time is the radio: no screen, no navigation and no convenient way to connect your phone. A radio screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto brings it up to date without touching anything that makes it so practical.
Does the Daihatsu Terios have CarPlay as standard?
No. The Terios J200 never offered Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, not even as an option. Most units have a CD radio and, on better-equipped ones, an MP3 player or auxiliary input. There is no factory navigation either. And since the brand no longer has an official network in Spain, there is no update or dealer part that adds phone connectivity.
The solution: Android radio for the Daihatsu Terios J200

Talk to an expert on WhatsAppThe radio screen for the Terios J200 replaces the original unit with an HD touchscreen and an adapter frame designed specifically for its dashboard. These are its features:
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: the phone connects automatically when you start the car.
- Integrated GPS navigation, compatible with Google Maps and Waze, also useful outside coverage with downloaded maps.
- Bluetooth hands-free for calls and music.
- FM radio and playback via USB, Bluetooth and Spotify.
- CAN Bus wiring to keep the steering wheel controls on units that have them.
- Free reversing camera, much appreciated on the Terios because the spare wheel on the tailgate limits visibility when parking.
- Three memory configurations: 1 GB + 16 GB, 2 GB + 32 GB or 4 GB + 64 GB.
Daihatsu Terios compatibility: supported versions
The kit is compatible with the second-generation Daihatsu Terios, code J200, listed for the years 2006-2017. In Spain it was sold during the first part of that period; the rest corresponds to markets where the car continued to be built. The same chassis was sold in other countries as the Toyota Rush, with the same dashboard, so the kit fits it too. It is compatible with:
- Terios with permanent four-wheel drive or two-wheel drive.
- Versions with manual or automatic gearbox.
- Units with the original CD or MP3 radio.
It does not fit the first-generation Terios (J100), which has a completely different dashboard. Before buying, compare your console with the product photos or send us a photo of your current radio via WhatsApp and we will confirm compatibility for free.
What does the installation involve?

Message us on WhatsApp with your make, model and year and we will tell you exactly which screen fits your car. We reply in minutes.
Talk to an expert on WhatsAppThe kit comes with the specific wiring with CAN Bus and the adapter frame, so it is installed without cutting any wires:
- The centre console trims are removed and the original radio is taken out.
- The new radio's wiring is connected to the Terios's original connector.
- The radio antenna, GPS antenna and USB cable are connected.
- If the reversing camera is being fitted, its cable is routed inside to the tailgate, next to the number plate.
- The screen is fitted into the frame, fixed in the dashboard and the phone is paired to use CarPlay or Android Auto.
The Terios dashboard is easy to take apart, so at a car electronics workshop the job takes around an hour, a little more with the camera. The kit includes instructions if you prefer to fit it yourself.
How much does it cost to install CarPlay in a Daihatsu Terios?
In this case the dealership is not an option: Daihatsu no longer sells cars in Spain and never offered CarPlay for the Terios. The other route is a universal radio, but it requires buying a console-specific frame, the steering wheel adapter and the camera separately, and the finish on the dashboard is rarely as clean.
The dedicated radio includes in the same box the frame, the CAN Bus wiring, the GPS antenna and the free reversing camera. You can check the current price of each memory version on the product page.
Frequently asked questions
Still have questions? Talk to an expert
Message us on WhatsApp with your make, model and year and we will tell you exactly which screen fits your car. We reply in minutes.
Talk to an expert on WhatsAppDoes it fit the Toyota Rush?
Yes. The Toyota Rush is the same car as the Terios J200 under another brand and shares the dashboard, so the kit is the same.
Does the GPS work in the countryside without coverage?
The GPS receiver always works. To navigate without mobile data, just download offline maps beforehand in Google Maps or use an offline navigation app installed on the radio.
Will I get support even though Daihatsu is no longer in Spain?
Yes. The radio does not depend on the car brand: we provide technical support ourselves, in Spanish, and the kit includes everything needed for fitting.
Does it drain the battery if the car sits for days?
Not if the radio is correctly connected to the ignition. If your Terios is used little, see our guide on whether an Android radio drains the battery.
Can I put the original radio back?
Yes. Since no wires are cut, the factory radio can be refitted whenever you like.
If you have a Toyota, our guide to CarPlay screens for Toyota covers every model of the brand.
