What does the installation involve?

The Navara's cabin is roomy and the plastics are sturdy, so fitting it is straightforward.

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait a few minutes.
2. Remove the centre trim panel with a plastic pry tool, releasing the clips gradually.
3. Undo the screws holding the factory radio and pull it out of the opening.
4. Unplug the power, speaker and antenna connectors.
5. Connect the new screen's wiring harness: the CAN Bus box keeps ignition, lighting and steering wheel controls working.
6. Place the GPS antenna under the dashboard and the microphone next to the rear-view mirror.
7. Route the reversing camera cable through the inside of the cab to the load bed, if you are fitting one.
8. Mount the D40 frame, slot the screen in and reconnect the battery to test everything before closing it all up.

How much does it cost to install CarPlay in a Nissan Navara D40?
