- Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait a few minutes.
- Remove the centre trim panel with a plastic pry tool, releasing the clips carefully.
- Undo the screws on the factory radio and pull it out.
- Disconnect the power, speaker and antenna leads from the old unit.
- Connect the new screen's wiring harness: the CAN Bus adapter handles ignition, lighting and steering wheel controls.
- Place the GPS antenna under the dashboard and the microphone near the rear-view mirror.
- Fit the GD fascia and secure the screen in the opening.
- Reconnect the battery and test CarPlay, Android Auto, radio and controls before closing everything up.
It's a plug & play installation: none of the car's wires are cut, and the original radio can be refitted if you ever need to.
How much does it cost to install CarPlay in a Honda Jazz Mk1?
Honda doesn't offer any official upgrade for the first-generation Jazz, so dealerships have no factory solution. The usual alternative is a car audio shop that fits a universal radio and charges separately for the adapter fascia, the harness, the steering wheel control interface and labour.
