The Opel Mokka X was one of the best-selling small SUVs in Spain in its day: compact on the outside, high enough to get in and out comfortably and with very reasonable diesel and petrol engines. With the update that added the X to its name, Opel completely redesigned the dashboard and centre console, making it cleaner with fewer buttons. The problem is that many cars left the factory with the entry-level radio and no phone integration, and those with a screen now fall short of what any new car offers. A 9-inch radio screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto brings the Mokka X up to date without changing cars.
Does the Opel Mokka X have CarPlay as standard?
It depends on the equipment. The higher trims could have the IntelliLink system with a 7 or 8-inch touchscreen, which on some versions included Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but always wired and with a small screen and a processor that is slow by today's standards. The entry-level versions, very common in fleets and on the used market, have a basic radio with Bluetooth and an information display, without CarPlay or Android Auto. And the factory navigation systems use maps that are no longer updated. In practice, most owners end up with their phone in an air-vent holder.

Talk to an expert on WhatsAppThe radio screen for Opel Mokka X replaces the original unit with a 9-inch touchscreen and a wide adapter fascia designed for the Mokka X dashboard. These are its features:
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with no need to plug in your phone on every trip.
- GPS with its own antenna and navigation with Google Maps and Waze.
- Bluetooth hands-free and music streaming.
- FM radio and playback via USB, Bluetooth or Spotify.
- CAN Bus integration to keep the steering wheel controls.
- Two USB extensions to charge your phone or connect a USB stick.
- Free universal rear camera, ideal for parking in town.
- Several RAM and storage configurations to choose from.
Compatibility with Opel Mokka X: supported versions
The kit is compatible with the Opel Mokka X built between 2016 and 2019, with the redesigned dashboard shown in the product photos. It works with all engines (petrol, diesel and LPG) and with front or all-wheel drive, because what determines compatibility is the centre console, not the engine.
It is not compatible with the Opel Mokka before the update, which had a console full of buttons and its own CarPlay screen guide for Opel Mokka, nor with the second-generation Mokka, which is a completely different car. If you are not sure which version you have, send us a photo of the radio and console before buying.

Talk to an expert on WhatsAppThe radio comes with a dedicated harness and CAN Bus box, so the installation is plug & play:
- The trims around the original radio are removed and the unit is taken out.
- The dedicated power harness is plugged into the original Mokka X connector, with the CAN Bus box in between, without cutting any wire.
- The GPS antenna, radio antenna, USB cables and the rear camera, if you want to fit it, are connected.
- The screen is fixed to the adapter fascia and slotted into the dashboard opening.
- The CAN Bus is configured in the radio menu and the phone is paired to use CarPlay or Android Auto.
The fitting takes between one and two hours at a car electronics workshop. If you are comfortable removing trims, you can do it yourself following the included manual.
How much does it cost to install CarPlay in an Opel Mokka X?
If your Mokka X does not have IntelliLink, the dealer cannot add CarPlay: the unit would have to be replaced with another factory one, something Opel does not offer as an upgrade and which, second-hand or as an original spare, is expensive and not guaranteed to work with your configuration. And if you already have IntelliLink, there is no official way to get wireless CarPlay or a bigger screen. The dedicated radio is the most direct route: it includes the fascia, CAN Bus, GPS antenna and rear camera, and is fitted quickly. You can see the current price of each version on the product page.

Message us on WhatsApp with your make, model and year and we will tell you exactly which screen fits your car. We reply in minutes.
Talk to an expert on WhatsAppMy Mokka X already has wired CarPlay, is it worth changing?
If plugging in your phone on every trip bothers you or the screen feels small, yes: you get wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, a 9-inch screen and its own GPS that works without the phone.
Will I lose the car settings that were adjusted from the radio?
Some comfort settings of the Mokka X are managed from the original system menu. Before removing it, set the options you use (locking, courtesy lights) and ask us if your version has any special function.
Do the steering wheel controls still work?
Yes, the included CAN Bus box keeps volume, track and call control.
Does it work with a Mokka X that has a factory rear camera?
In many cases the original camera can be used with an adapter, but it depends on the car. If yours has one, let us know with a photo; if not, you can use the free camera.
Is it compatible with the second-generation Opel Mokka?
No. The new Mokka has a completely different digital dashboard; this kit is exclusive to the Mokka X.
