The Chrysler 300C is one of those cars that never goes unnoticed: a huge front end, classic American saloon lines and, under the body, a technical base shared with Mercedes-Benz, including the 3.0 CRD diesel engine with which it sold well in Spain. Both as a saloon and in the Touring estate version, it remains a much-loved car for anyone looking for comfort and personality. Its weak point by now is the multimedia system: a CD radio, DVD navigation on some units and no simple way to use your phone. A radio screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto brings it up to date without changing its character.
Does the Chrysler 300C have CarPlay as standard?
No. The first-generation 300C (LX) came out long before Apple CarPlay and Android Auto existed. Most units have a CD radio and, depending on the trim, a CD changer or a navigation system with a small screen and disc-based maps that are now completely outdated. Some versions include a high-end sound system with an amplifier. In no case is there an official update that adds phone connectivity.

Talk to an expert on WhatsAppThe radio screen for the Chrysler 300C replaces the original unit with an HD touchscreen and an adapter frame designed specifically for its centre console. These are its features:
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: the phone connects automatically as soon as you start the car.
- Integrated GPS navigation, compatible with Google Maps and Waze, instead of the old DVD navigation.
- Bluetooth hands-free for calls and music.
- FM radio and playback via USB, Bluetooth and Spotify.
- CAN Bus wiring to keep the steering wheel controls.
- Free reversing camera, very useful on a saloon over five metres long.
- Three memory configurations: 1 GB + 16 GB, 2 GB + 32 GB or 4 GB + 64 GB.
Chrysler 300C compatibility: supported versions
The kit is compatible with the first-generation Chrysler 300C in its initial stage, listed for the years 2004-2008. Compatibility is determined by the shape of the centre console and the radio connector, not the engine, so it fits:
- 300C saloon and 300C Touring (estate).
- 3.0 CRD diesel and V6 or HEMI V8 petrol engines.
- Rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions.
- Units with a CD radio or with original navigation.
The 300C received an interior update midway through its production run. If your car is from the last years of this generation, carefully compare your console with the product photos. If your 300C has a sound system with an amplifier, send us a photo of the radio via WhatsApp and we will confirm compatibility for free before you buy.
If you have another Chrysler, we also have a guide for the Chrysler Voyager (2000-2007).
What does the installation involve?

Talk to an expert on WhatsAppThe kit includes the specific wiring with CAN Bus and the adapter frame, so installation is plug & play:
- The centre console trims are removed and the original radio is taken out.
- The new radio's wiring is connected to the 300C's original connector, without cutting any wires.
- The radio antenna, GPS antenna and USB cable are connected.
- If the reversing camera is being fitted, its cable is routed inside the car to the boot or tailgate.
- The screen is fitted into the frame, fixed in the console and the CAN Bus and phone are set up.
At a car electronics workshop, fitting takes one to two hours, a little longer with the reversing camera because of the car's length. The kit includes instructions in case you prefer to do it yourself.
How much does it cost to install CarPlay in a Chrysler 300C?
Chrysler offers no update to add CarPlay to this generation of the 300C, and updating the original DVD navigation does not add phone mirroring either. The alternative of a universal radio means finding a frame for an unusual console, a steering wheel adapter and a camera separately, with a result that is rarely well integrated.
The dedicated radio includes in the same box the frame, the CAN Bus wiring, the GPS antenna and the free reversing camera. You can check the current price of each memory version on the product page.

Talk to an expert on WhatsAppDoes it fit the 300C Touring?
Yes. The saloon and the Touring share the dashboard, so the kit is the same.
Do the steering wheel controls still work?
Yes. The CAN Bus lets you keep controlling volume, tracks and calls from the steering wheel.
My 300C has factory navigation, will I lose it?
It is replaced by the new radio's GPS, which also lets you use Google Maps or Waze with real-time traffic through CarPlay or Android Auto.
Does it work with the amplified sound system?
Usually yes, but it is worth checking the wiring of your version. Send us a photo of the radio and we will confirm.
Can I refit the original radio?
Yes. Since no wires are cut, the factory radio can be put back if you ever need to.
